The house is located in a rural and quiet environment, 1525 m above sea level. The property is on the Northwest side of a valley near Roodepoort to the Northwest of Joburg at the confluence of the rivers Wilgespruit and Little Falls. These rivers flow during the rainy season from October and April into the Krokodilrivier (Crocodile River) at nearby Muldersdrift.

All buildings are built with very hard baked red bricks (type Boom/Rupelmonde) and the door and window frames are constructed with reclaimed railway sleepers in Rhodesian teak with window ledges made from Italian terracotta. The windows are in meranti, the doors on the ground floor in meranti and the doors on the first floor in saligna (eucalyptus), wooden door frames and skirting boards.
Separate hot water boilers are installed under the kitchen sinks and the main house has an alarm installation with central and separate activating unit in the main bedroom.
